Papp László Budapest Sportarena
The Papp László Sportarena, the largest indoor sport hall of Budapest and Hungary is located only a few minutes away from the city center of the capital, at the Stadionok stop of the M2 metro and tram nr 1. There are 10.000 fix seats in horseshoe or U shape and further 2.500 chairs can be placed. The arena can be enlarged up to 8000 sqm so it can be ideal place for concerts, exhibitions or other events beside the sport contests. The pebble stone shaped building was named after Papp László (three-time Olympic boxing champion (1948 London, 1952 Helsinki, 1956 Melbourne). Its terrace covered with granite stone is 15.000 sqm where you can find the ticket shop, the entrances and from here you can reach the underground garage with 1.160 parking places.
Puskás Ferenc Stadium
The Puskás Ferenc Stadium, the former Népstadion is situated next to Papp László Sportarena, between the Stadionok and the Keleti pályaudvar (Keleti railway station) stops of the M2 metro (red line). The stadium was built in 1953 and it can host 70.000 people. Its name was changed into Puskás Ferenc in 2002. First of all it host football matches but sometimes it is also the place of athletics contests, other sport events and large concerts.
