Buda
Buda is a quarter of the capital city, located on the right bank of the Danube. As Pest is plain area, Buda is situated on and between hills and mountains. Near river Danube you can find old buildings like in the whole center of Budapest. The area between the Margaret Bridge (Margit híd)and the Liberty Bridge (Lánchíd), including the Buda Castle Quarter is the part of the UNESCO World Heritage. You can also find here the majority of the thermal baths (Lukács, Király, Rudas, Gellért) of Budapest. Moving away from the river, somewhere only a few hundred meters, you can find silent, green belt areas.
In the center of Buda you can also find large conference hotels which can host events up to more hundred persons, such as smaller, intimate hotels. Farther away from the central area near the twittering birds many familiar pensions are available. From the hotels located ont he Buda side of the town you can reach the city center easily (in 5-25 minutes) by public transport (buses, trams, metro M2).
