Tata, the cozy little town, is situated on the northern part of the Transdanubio of Hungary, only 70 kilometers from Budapest, at the foot of the Vértes and Gerecse Hills.
Tata is the city of water. Its main sight is the Lake Öreg of which area is 242 hectaire. The lake which gives home for many spieces of birds, is under the effect of the Ramsar agreement of which main goal is the protection of the water habitats of the world. You can see many goose in the middle of the city. The most notable sight and the symbol of the city is the castle, situated on the lakeside which has different architecture caracters. Its great age was under the reign of King Mattias in the XV.century. The town was famous for its springs and water mills of which part was renovated and can also be seen today. The other notable sight of the town is the Lake Cseke situated on the area of the first English Park of Central Europe which is also an excellent fishing paradise.You can see exotic trees and almost 300 species of plants in the park.
