The Southern Railway Station (Déli pu.) is situated on the western part of Budapest, at the Buda terminal of the underground M2. The Krisztina Boulevard (Krisztina körút) runs in front of the building of the railway station (tracks, counters, waiting halls, bars) and the Alkotás street (Alkotás utca) also starts here which runs toward the motorways M1-M7, and one of the largest traffic junction of Buda, the Moszkva Square is only 500-600 meters away. The bulk of the Transdanubian trains leave from the Southern railway station to the larger cities such as Győr Sopron, Szombathely, Veszprém, Zalaegerszeg, Nagykanizsa, Pécs, or to the northern and southern shores of the Lake Balaton. Some of the international trains leave and arrive also here. The train tickets can be bought at the counters or from self-service ticket machines. On request left-luggage office is also available.

Public transport and lines to reach the Southern Railway Station (Déli pu.) or from there to the different parts of Budapest: Underground: M2 (Buda termal of the red line); Trams: 18 (on the Krisztina Boulevard side) and 59, 59A,61 (on the Alkotás street side); Buses: 39, 90, 90A, 139, 139A, 190 (on the Alkotás street side).
To reach the other two main Budapest railway stations from Déli:
- Western Railway Station("Nyugati pályaudvar"), 1 change, about 20 minutes: Take the underground M2 (red line) until "Deák tér" (Deák Square) which is the 4th stop, and from there underground M3 (blue line) until the Western Railway Rtation (Nyugati pu.), which is the 2nd stop toward „Újpest központ”.
- Eastern Railway Station (Keleti pályaudvar), without change, about 20 minutes: Take the underground M2 (red line) until the Keleti stop (the 7th stop).

If you want to get from one of the Budapest railway stations to an other one within 30 minutes, to avoid the traffic jams and missing the connection we recommend you the undergrounds instead of taxi or buses.
